Illegal operation

R

When I run tools > analyse > performance I get the
following error:

Msaccess performed an illegal operation. Invalid page
fault in module KERNEL32.dll at 0177:bff857d3. I also get
this error when I run a module in my db. I'm not sure but
this may have started when I did a detect & repair in
Excel. Just did a detect & repair in Access but didn't
help.

I'm runnning Windows 98SE with all updates. Office is 2000
with all updates.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Hi, Bob.

Sounds like memory addresses in RAM are being stepped on by a misbehaving
software application. Compile your module code (if you can), then save all
your work, close all applications, then reboot your computer. After
rebooting, open Access and try to do the performance analysis again.

If rebooting doesn't fix it, post back.

Hi Gunny,

Thanks for the reply! Rebooting doesn't seem to help, as I
continue to get the illegal operation error. I can't think
of any software that I've installed that could be causing
the problem. If you have any more ideas I would appreciate
them.

Thanks,
Bob
