illegal functions

Does anyone know why I keep getting these messages? If
so, how can I fix the problem. I keep getting one of two
illegal function messages. "General protection fault in
module USER.EXE at 003:00001022" and "General protection
fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 0177:bff9d709" Any help
will be greatly appreciated.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
