Hi everybody, I need to install IIS on my XP SP2 Home....

Im a developer and my notebook came with the bastard Home edition...

How can I do that?

Paulo;
You don't, IIS is not supported on Windows XP Home.
If you need IIS, you will need Windows XP Pro.

Also IIS is available with Windows Vista although I am unsure if it is
available with all versions.
I suspect IIS is included in Business and Ultimate.

I'd say, if you need anything more sophisticated than the web server built
into Web Developer Express or the full-blown VS2005 or VS2008, then you
really need to switch to XP Pro.

I don't think it's outright impossible to install IIS on Home, but it's
certainly not a supported scenario and you're really opening yourself up to
all sorts of quirks. In the long run, IMHO, I don't think it's worth the
aggravation.

OTOH people are free to disagree. This is strictly my opinion.

The retail upgrade XP Pro package is not that expensive, and if you're a
developer, will be a tax-deductible expense.

Upgrade to WinXP Pro.
