IIS and Internet Connection Wizard?

S

Susan

I have reinstalled Windows XP Pro (formatted HD first), installed IIS and FP
2003, I created one page website which ended out on
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\mysite when I just saved it. I can open localhost in
FrontPage.

I have installed the FP 2002 extensions with the Security updates.

Now I can use IIS and
Restart IIS.

But when I am in the IIS and right click on the Default Web Site and try to
Check the FrontPage extensions,
I get a new window (Internet Connection Wizard) which opens and states that
"This computer does not have an internet connection".

What do I need to do about this?

Never mind. I just closed the window and got to the check the extensions.
Everything appears to be working fine. I can bring up localhost in IE.

Guess it is normal to see that stop sign error in IIS for Default Web Site
before you do restart IIS?

Hey Susan.......way to go :) It took me about 10 days to get IIS set up on
my computer but mine seems to all be working fine now also. Good luck with
your project whatever it is.

I must thank the MS-MVPs and others in this newsgroup for their help. I just
am wondering how fast I can break the server again? I have better notes now
if I have to reinstall again."

Now that you have IIS set up
In IIS select your PC (above the root web) and right click to Backup/Restore

I will do that. I am still scared that I will obtain that error in future
where it seemed I was locked out even when used Admistrator to sign-on. But
I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Thank you especially for all your help!
