If we don't get help here, what do we do?

A couple of days ago I posted a plea for help with Windows Update, given the
complete absence of error 0x8007F0F4 in Microsoft's web site, or even in
Google or Deja.com. When loading uihist.xml, there's an error line that
says the install status is "failed," needs reboot = "0" and error code
is -2146963212.

There was no answer--all I need is to know what the error code means.

Does anyone from Microsoft read this newsgroup? Is it possible for someone
to look up their error code and attach words to it? I don't know what we're
supposed to do, as there is a complete void of information on this.

What is our alternative if Microsoft people don't read this? It would seem
to me that they would want to help because they don't need more examples of
hacked IIS machines! We depend on this server and we're really desparate!

Good point, although it seems that they should provide the text equivalent
of an error code without charging us, given that there are no more manuals.

If it is not in the knowledge base, then does that mean nobody knows? How
could they put up an error code without storing what it means?

And, it's replies like that one that make this
entire "SUPPORT NEWSGROUP" incredibly useless.
