Help!

My mail is being held hostage...I cannot get rid of the https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7854 (failure) message. It continually pops up and asks me to re-sign in, but won't accept it.

I have rebooted, scoured the internet for help, even deleted my gmail accounts, but the error still persists even with the gmail accounts gone! I want to restore the gmail accounts, and its critical i do that, but if I can't even get past this error message, what do I do?

Of interest, we recently travel out of state for a funeral, on the returning travel day, Google sent us an email saying they blocked suspicious activity, twice. One time is possibly from my computer from the hotel IP address, and the second attempt could be me from home, but not sure as don't remember being on the computer at that time and the IP address doesn't match, unless maybe it was my phones?, though the city the second block came from was close to home, the previous was from the city we traveled to.

Interesting enough, we received a telephone call via our business land line at 10pm last night!...a hardly used or given out #, I was scammers claiming to be from Microsoft saying they noticed we were being hacked, and then when we resisted started some ridiculous threat about cyber laws...we hung up...but the timing of all this is fishy.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Meredith :)
