Well I came here to say I had no problems installing.
No problems after.
No problems with hardware or programs and SP2.
No problems with anything and XP firewall(sp2)
That's because I have always used Norton and always will.
XP firewall service turned off.
No driver problems
No install problems
Nothing at all.
Everything works as it did before SP2.
I only install programs I will use and need
I only upgrade hardware when really have to
I don't add, install, or anything else that is not essential.
All drivers are up to date....................

WHY don't you just wait and see and not keep changing what you say about
where and when,
IF there is going to be any form of "New"SP2 it will be as patches/updates.
Why would MS scrap the present SP2 and have to start over?

Nero,
Even through I may not agree with robin.
I can point out one Software the went wrong.
Microsoft Bob. Now, Its Microsoft Office

What exactly is DELL telling its customers? The only thing I have heard is that Microsoft has extended SP2 block to 12 April 2005. Yo might know that MS issued a tool that prevents PCs from automatically downloading and installing the Windows XP SP2 update.

The tool allows users to get other critical updates without having SP2 installed. The dealine is now 12 April 2005 after which no critical updates would be available unless the wonderdrug called SP2 is also installed.

Hope this helps until 12/Apr/2005!!!!

maybe what dell is telling its customers is true then
