hi, i have a sheet in column A i have A,B,C,D for example then column E to AI, i have a value of H but i would only like to count the the "H" that relate to column A that has a value of A ?hope this makes sense

Hmmm... Not sure I follow. You want to count the number of instances where column A has a value of "A" and the other column has a value of "H"?
