Iexplore.exe not in task manager

I just recently noticed that Internet Explorer no longer appears in the task
manager. When I start IE, Iexplore.exe shows up in task manager and then
disappears.

When I "Go to process", it highlights explorer.exe. I have several machines
at home and they all open in individual instances. How can I change this? A
colleague of mine suggested it was a result of the potential netscape
lawsuit against microsoft.

I am using Windows2k Pro, IE 6.0.2800.1106; SPI, Q824145; Q330994

Thanks.

Thanks for responding. What toolbar should I check? I checked properties on
the quick launch IE icon, and the hidden attribute is not set.

I used the ad-aware utility earlier and I removed all adware stuff. Already
did a complete scan with NAV and it's clean.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

I have the same issue.

All the browser windows are tied to the same single
explorer.exe process. As I open new window, it increases
the memory usage on that single task rather starting a
new process.

One thing I did notice, if you login as a different user,
the problem is gone. So I believe it's tied to the user
profile settings...

let me know if you find a solution.
regards,
Tom
