iexplore.exe locks up my XP SP2 machine.

I am running XP SP2. On every reboot the desktop locks up. When I go
to task manager i can see an iexplore process running ( there are all
the other usual processes as well). Since the machine has not yet
completely rebooted, obviously i have not started it. When i stop this
process, the desktop comes alive, although the iexplore comes back
again. I can't kill this process, no matter what. It is all OK in safe
mode. SO who is starting it?? How do i get rid of it??

I have McAfee anti-virus and AdAware installed. Did all the scanning
no problems were found.

HELP please.

Hi,
From Start> Run> (type in) msconfig> Startup tab, do you see iexplore.exe or
another program (possibly an updater) loading Internet Explorer?

AutoRuns will provide more information than msconfig.
