Recently starting my IE browser for most of the times
gives following error:
"IEXPLORE.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log is created."
When I click on "Ok" button, the current window is closed.
Any pointers to why is it happening and what could be done
to get rid of it?
I tried reinstalling IE6 again, but it didn't help.
Thanks

Which version of Windows do you run?

Don't you love progress? With Windows 98, we get
the "details" button.

How did you re-install IE 6, on top of itself, or did you
fool Windows into thinking that IE 6 did not exist?
Here's how to fool Windows.

When did the problem begin?

Have you scanned for viruses?

What kind of internet connection do you have?

Have you scanned for spyware using ad-aware, spybot and/or
pest patrol?

www.lavasoftusa.com to download Ad-aware

spybot search & destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download

www.pestpatrol.com to download their free trial, that
will detect, but not remove the offender. But PP will
tell you how to manually remove the junk.

Best of success.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com

and:

SpyBot-S&D
http://security.kolla.de/

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
