IEEE 1394 card problem

I'm trying to install a standard IEEE 1394 card (400 mbps) onto my computer
(its a Dell 2400). Windows Xp (sp2 now, although I tried this before I
installed sp1 and 2) sees the card when I restart, but then initializes the
new hardware wizard, and asks to search for a driver. The ms site states that
XP installs IEEE 1394 cards automatically, but apparently that is not the
case with this card (made by PPA, Inc.), as it wants a driver. When a driver
can't be found, the device manager yellow splats the device, and it doesnt
work. Any suggestions on how I can either obtain the XP driver or get it
working? I'm really frustrated, especially since I just invested a bunch of
money into firewire peripherals that wont work without the interface card.

I ended up throwing that IEEE 1394 card in the garbage and getting a new one
from a different manufacturer, which works fine. I got tired of dicking with
it. Sometimes your time is worth more than your money.
