IE8 Uninstall Does not work

I tried IE8 and have nothing but problems. When I try to uninstall it, it
automatically restarts.

Right now, it is active but does not appear in the ADD/REMOVE programs list.

I try to install IE7 and it will not install because IE8 is there.

How do I manually remove IE8 so I can reinstall 7. I could not reach the
newsgroups or discussions because IE 8 blocks them, I am using Firefox.

In the Add or Remove Programs left pane, click the Add/Remove Windows
components. Click to uncheck Internet explorer then click the Next.. button

XP Home.

I have tried the uninstall through the control panel and now it does not
appear in a program you can uninstall.
