IE7? Will this be better?

Hi people

I just wanted to ask users of this group, do you really think that IE7 will
be any better than IE6 and or bring people back from using FireFox?

My personal views on this are that when IE6 came out I was a user of it, but
I then started using Mozilla I did this because that I hate MS, I don't hate
them at all I use whatever software that meets my needs the best. And at the
time IE6 was not doing that and still does not even after the SP2 upgrade's
I liked the features and opensource aspect of Mozilla, not to mention it's
support of web standards and PNG graphics. As in web designing PNG is vital
for creating fluid transparently that a 256 colour GIF that can't handle.

At this time I use FireFox as this meets my needs and I like the features
that I get from it, sure it's not perfect software but I feel that I can
become more involved with it's development than I can ever have with IE7,
but for now I see FireFox as the way forward.

Thanks
Allan

How can anyone offer an opinion of Internet Explorer 7
when no one is using it since it hasn't been released?

Personally, I don't like tab browsing (so that is not a benifit). I am a
web developer, and I don't use or like PNG files(they are to big compared to
jpg and gifs). I when you want your site to run quick you need small files.
But besides all that I hope that IE7 will be a big improvement. I hope
favorites get a make over, organize better/easier, and other minor details.
I have used firefox, but I still see to many problems with it, (for one you
can still get viruses and spyware with it some by not reading and some by
just going to a website). This is just from experience and from comments
from my customers.

PNG files are usually (but not always) smaller than equivalent GIF files.

As for comparing PNG and JPG, that's comparing apples to oranges. They
are each best for different kinds of images.

Well I do so where PNG files are larger than GIF's and JPEG's. But I only
hope that when IE7 is shipped out to the public I hope that it has better
improvements in web standards when I design websites I try my best to
achieve all-round browser compatibility both from IE and FireFox and achieve
valid HTML/XHTML so in the end either I like IE7 or not I will be using it
either way, if I like IE7 I will come back but I hear that IE7 will just be
a over hauled IE6, I think it's time the IE development team and Microsoft
begin to consider a radical re-design and revolution to IE.
