IE7 under Win XP Pro - JS errors

I installed IE7 when MS rolled it out via auto updates a few days ago.
Since installation, I've been unable to access certain content from Google
Search links. The most common problems are with PDFs but the same JS error
message occurs with other (non-HTML) content.

The error typically is:
Line: 1
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: <url of PDF or other content>

The same links work perfectly in both Opera and Firefox and worked properly
in IE6, and I can open standard anchor tag links to local PDFs in IE7.

Any idea what's gone wrong and how to get the content to open correctly in
IE7?

TIA,

IE7 questions should be asked in the Internet Explorer newsgroup. There are
quite a few posts there so peruse them for something on topic before posting
a new message.

Thanks, I did look for an "IE" or "internetexplorer" group, but I couldn't
see the group you quote. Now that I've double-clicked your link, my
newsreader has added it to the list of groups for msnews.microsoft.com.

Thanks again,

You're welcome. Here is a list of MS newsgroups on the web. This is a good
resource to see what the newsgroup name is, to use in your newsreader (the
web interface is awful).
