IE7 Tab opening slow......

S

Sundance

Whenever I open IE7 or open a new tab it takes about 1-1/2 to 2 minutes for
the web page to open. During this time, I can't access IE menu options or
close the tab. I can switch to another tab and it works fine. Something is
going on to freeze the tab that is trying to open and I can't figure it out.
Any ideas?

It works fine with add-ons disabled. Thanks, PA Bear, I'll have to find out
which add-on is causing the problem. You may have saved my sanity, if it's
still there.

The Google Toolbar was causing the problem. I didn't suspect that because
I've had it a long time. But, it was updated about six weeks ago and that's
about the time the problem started. I liked the Google Toolbar but I can't
stand the delay. Oh well.

Assuming you've uninstalled Google Toolbar now, you might try reinstalling
using the current installer. If the behavior returns, Google Toolbar may be
conflicting with another toolbar (e.g., Yahoo; Windows Live); if so, choose
one (1) and uninstall the others via Add/Remove Programs.
