ie7 & quicktime addon crashing

keepout

UAC On or off, makes no difference.

When I turn the quicktime addon on, in ie7, it works just fine. When I close ie7, it tells me ie has crashed, and restarts it unless I hit the cancel soon enough.

disable the quicktime addon, and alls well. except wav's in web pages on the web, no longer play.

M$ gave me the solution to turn off addon's until I found the quicktime one causing the problem..

Before Vista crashed and took out my C: drive needing a reinstall, this problem didn't exist. Then I had to do a rollback with another vista update that messed up the HDTV GT TV screen. That rollback knocked out plenty of other stuff, that I've finally restored. But I'm stuck on how to reinstall a GOOD quicktime plugin into ie7.

How do I get a working quicktime addon removed/reinstalled into ie7 ?

You may not be able to get it to work. It seems one has to be careful what
they install on Vista. If software is causing problems, then you abandon
such software. If the software is not on the Vista compatibly list(s), then
it's going to be suspect to say the least about it.
