IE7 problem

I had a problem with IE7 and Vista. When I would start it instead of IE
starting I get a box that says there is a problem with IE7 find a solution
or close or details. I look at details and it just says program crash. I
tried SFC /scannow running as administrator for the cmd and that didn't
solve it so I tried the one in accessories without add-ons and that didn't
work either. Next I right clicked the icon on the task bar and chose run as
administrator then it runs but now every time I start it UAC kicks in and
asks if I know and can trust this program! Little annoying so how do I
repair IE7 and Vista?

Thanks for any help, Rich

I would guess that some file is corrupted in your IE temporary files
directory. Try deleting them by hand.

C:\users\rich\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\TemporaryInternetFiles

If that doesn't work you could try deleting any files in

C:\users\rich\AppData\Local\Microsoft\InternetExplorer

Thanks I tried to do that and it wouldn't let me into the folder. I did
delete the temporary files from IE7 after it started by running as
administrator. What I'm thinking now is the folder for the temp folder got
changed to some folder that only and administrator can access and it can't
write files so it fails? How do I allow access to the
C:\users\rich\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\TemporaryInternetFiles? I
don't care for all this run as this and that but I guess I will eventually
get used to it like I had to get used to XP but what a pain to have to ask
for help for many things I knew before how to do easily.

This is a confusing new thing in Vista called 'junctions'. A 'junction'
points Vista to the real location of the directory which is not the
apparent location. You probably went to the junction with the same
name instead of the real location (which I carefully gave you above ;o)
