IE7 hangs

Jim Guess

I posted this on http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet and was told to come to
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/newsgroups/desktopos/winxp.mspx

This is a CONSTANT battle.

Internet Explorer 7 gets regular freezes/lockups/unresponsive/etc.,
messages. My computer always sends in the error to Microsoft and then I get
a link to 'go do this stuff' to solve the problem.

Been there, done that, got several t-shirts. None of the solutions work!

I get the 'unresponsive' pop-up with this pertinent information:
szAppName : iexplore.exe szAppVer : 7.0.6000.16640 szModName : hungapp
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

Detailed information - ie files being sent:
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERc781.dir00\iexplore.exe.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERc781.dir00\appcompat.txt

Of course, I left off all the useless text that is repetitive.

I have searched and searched for an answer. All the answers point back to
the Microsoft link with solutions that do not work!

Thank you,

Jim Guess

If 'the Microsoft link' you mean is:
Internet Explorer stops responding, stops working, or restarts:

you probably have damaged files. There is not 'another way' to fix damaged
files. You replace them.

Then the good news is you have narrowed it down to a registry error. (or
hardware failure, which is doubtful considering the error message). If
uninstalling and reinstalling IE has not reset the registry, you may have
permissions problems accessing the registry for a change.

The last two posts make me very dubious about using the 'free FixIE tool'.
What is going on here?

Nothing is "going on" Leythos is a stalker he stalks me plain and simple. Do
you see any posts by me that he did not reply to? I gave you a possible
solution to your problem, did he? If you are concerned about it being free
then let me know I can always charge you for it. If you are concerned about
the software in general then Check my feedback and see what others have said
about it
http://pcbutts1-therealtruth.blogspot.com/
When Leythos responds, and he will respond, ask him to point you a link to
my FixIE software, that he claims is stolen, that does not go to my site.
Hint: he won't have one because there is none.
