IE7 Delete Browser History fault, & Hour Glass keeps appearing?

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to resolve the following fault?

I recently installed McAfee Internet Security Suite 2007 & SiteAdvisor, & my
PC seems to be running OK, apart from the expected slow down with this extra
security running.

However, I recently noticed a problem when I try to delete my browser
history under internet options, as the process seems to hang on deleting
history, until I open Task Manager to end the process.

I have also noticed that when using IE7, an Hour Glass icon keeps appearing
on screen every second or so next to the mouse arrow?

I really do not understand what the problem is, as everything has worked OK
for a couple of days after installing McAfee? I have tried system restore, &
reinstalling McAfee, & this is the second time this has happened.

It may help further to know that I am using Windows XP SP2, & also, if I
close IE7 & try & delete the browser history via Start>Control Panel>Network
& Internet Connections>Internet Options, then this works perfectly.

If anyone can help with this, then I would be most grateful.

Many thanks.

Assuming you had a different anti-virus application installed before this,
did you uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs? What AV application of
security suite was it?

1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or
