IE6 will not reinstall

I was having problems with IE6 and uninstalled it. After running the
updater I downloaded from the IE homepage, it said I could not install
because there is a newer version of IE on the machine. I had uninstalled
the updates for it and the program in the program manager. Is there
something else I need to uninstall or maybe something in the registry?
