The only way I've seen the browser get to see pdf files is
with the latest Adobe Acrobat 6.0 when it asks if you want
to view pdf files within your browser. There were
unofficial fixes for this before for Netscape. I'd
suggest just viewing them in adobe in a temporary download
directory. Make a directory named downloads in your
Internet Explorer's temporary directory and when you load
pdfs and other little files for viewing store them there
temporarily for opening with the third party application
rather than trying to figure out how to integrate Internet
Explorer. Think outside the box. You can make a shortcut
to this Downloads directory from your my documents or
desktop, or both.
