IE6 very slow

L

Lakeuk

Since an ie update happened yesterday my ie6 usage has been very slow as
describled by others on here.

I did a reinstall of win2000 which speeded up my ie6 use to normal, but I
then couldn't connect to broadband or dial up

I followed the following link to sort out my connection problem
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329441

But now I'm back to a slow ie6 connection.

Any ideas?

Hi Lakeuk :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

First.........

Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

next......

Try reregistering the following files:

Start>Run>enter the following lines in the window one at a time, hitting
Enter after each one. You should see a message after entering each one that
it was registered.

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

also.......

Internet Explorer stops responding or the home page takes a long time to
open

Hope this helps
