Using Winnt and ie6,
I removed Blackice and am now unable to view tiff file.
All that is displayed is a blank screen.
Any ideas?

Hi Fintobelli - The Alterna TIFF plug-in works very nicely (except maybe for
some special multi-page
stuff occasionally), free, here: http://www.alternatiff.com/

I have also this issue with XP pc's and the
imaging.document reg fix was working before the balckice
was removed.

Thanks Jim,

I am also getting this issue with some XP pc's also.
We had used Imaging and made the registry settings as of
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;Q320289
But since BlacIce was uninstalled... no tiff are
displayed. I can rename the tiff to another extension and
they will view ok after association with imaging.
Is there something in IE blocking the duisplay of tif's?

One XP user (who wanted the restore the default associations)
found relief with Run... (e.g. press Win-R and enter:)

regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll

Please note that the command restores the associations of more
image types than just .tif, so if you have some third-party programs
currently controlling those filetypes you may need to do whatever
it is that they need done to re-register them for themselves.

Hi Fintobelli - Well, sounds like either an Association and/or .dll
registration issue. Try what Robert suggested, taking note of his caution
to you. Post back with your results, and he/I/someone will follow up if
that doesn't satisfy it. Just for fun, I would also Start|Run sfc
/scannow (note the space between the c and the / ).
