What happens on 2 travel sites is that all links and
searches work, but when I get to entering what I actually
want to purchase asking the site to search, nothing
happens. Today I was on a site for coupons and when I
clicked on the "get coupon" button, nothing happened. Can
anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix this?

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I should have
specified that we run with Windows ME. I looked at all
the URLs but found nothing that is applicable. My browser
does indicate 128 bit and the Java update was downloaded
last fall. I've tried turning off our firewall and even
that didn't help.

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back

I have experienced the same problem for some months. I think it was
linked to upgrading to ie6sp1.
I have tried absolutely everything that has been suggested including
running these spyware programs. Netscape works fine, but ie6 just
hangs on certain sites or windows. I have scoured the MSN knowledge
bases, Google.groups etc but with no luck. My only other alternative
to do format and do a clean install. If anyone has anyother
suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help. Because of searching for the
restoresearch2.reg file I stumbled upon a site that had the utility
'iefix' which allows for the installation of an older version. This
in conjunction with registering a small list of .dll's (never
previously mentioned) has fixed this nightmare.
