When I push the IE6 Search Button I get a "can't find
website" error message. I believe I got a virus that
reset the default site address. I am on XP and tried to
reload IE6 but the original version was kept. Same thing
happened when I tried to download from Microsoft. I
would like to know how to go into the registry and reset
the default site adddress for Search for IE6 and what the
name of the Search site is for IE6. I have found the
name for all other versions of IE except 6. Thanks.

Hi Paul,

First, scan the system for parasites and remove them. SpyBot S&D searches
your harddisk for Spyware and Adware
http://security.kolla.de/

&

Adaware (similar)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
(Remember to perform a Webupdate to have the latest definitions installed)

This will remove malware from the PC. Next, reset the Search Engine. Click
the Search button in the toolbar > Customize > AutoSearch Settings > Select
a provider from the list.
Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Options > Programs > "Reset Web Settings"

Download the fix - Reset Search:
