IE6 Slow to find web pages

I know this is an IE6 problem on this specific computer as I don't have
problems on computer 2 which is connected to the same router and I don't
suffer this if I run Netscape. Can anyone tell me what to check. I think
this may be the effects of a virus I had recently (and have successfully
removed) along with some other strangeness.

I mentioned Netscape - just to clarify Netscape doesn't have problems on the
same computer as the IE6
slowness.
