In Windows 2000 you should not have a VMD. Was this an upgrade from Windows 98? Try cleaning out your Temporary Internet Files in your Profile. Done in IE Properties Delete Files... Also clear out your Downloaded Program Files but unregister dlls in there first. regsvr32 /u name.dll

Thanks, but no luck.

Also, when I try to run sysedit I get an error that says "an installable
Virtual Device Driver failed dll initialization."

This started at the same time as the security warning.

Right you shouldn't have this Virtual Device. That is your problem it will not work in Windows 2000. This is strictly Win9x.
