Desktop error message

Received a message titled "security warning"

"A fatal error in IE has occurred at 0028:C0011E36 in VXD
VMM<00010E36. Error was caused by Trojan-
Spy.HTML.smitfraud.com"
*System can not function in normal mode. Please check
your security settings.
*Scan your PC with any available antivrus / spyware
removal program to fix the problem."

This message is always there on my desktop, but does not
seem to be causing any problems. I have run Microsoft
Antispyware and does not detect anything.

You need to do a full scan of the system with an up-to-date antivirus
program.

All the major vendors have online scanners, if you don't have updated
antivirus protection already.
