Fatal Error on Screen at startup?

A friend has an error on there computer. It says:
A fatal error in IE has occured at 0028:C0011E36 in VXD UMM(01) + 00010E36.
Error was cuased by Trojan-4y.HTML.Smitfraud.C.

*System can not function in normal mode. Please check your security settings.
* Scan you PC with any availiable antivirus/spyware remover to fix the
problem.

I have scanned it with an up to date McAfee, CWShredder, and Ad-Aware. But
nonoe of them seem to fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated!

I have this problem too, and I found a website that described the problem

I do still have a problem tho, I can't acces anything online to download any
patches or fixes, because my desktop is inaccesible. Any disks that anyone
know of? Or anyway to access IE form a hijacked desktop?
