IE6 saves .jpg as .jpe

lately IE 6 (winxp) started prompting me to save all .jpg or .jpeg images as .jpe . The problem is that unless I change the extention, the file becomes unrecognizable. I know I can change the extention later, or add it as a file type in windows, but is there a way to correct that?

Clear your cache. Delete all temporary internet files and cookies.
