IE6 Problems

Can anyone tell me why my browser hangs continuously when
i use a search engine? i am running XP Pro! I have
recently downloaded alot of fixes but can't see that
these are the problem!! I have also downloaded IE6 SP1
but can't install it, do i have to uninstall my current
version of IE?
