IE6 problems with Ebay

S

swarfmaker

IE6 on XP SP2
ZoneLabs
AVG ant-virus

when accessing www.ebay.co.uk get 403 errors "you are not authorised to view
this page". I can continue and log on to my account and then go to brows the
site. If I view an item and decide to add it to the watch list, I am asked
to log on again but even then it adds watched items to the Guest Account.
Anyone got any idea as to what's happening here.

Hi,
1. You might try deleting any cookies from ebay- or clear all cookies.
2. Internet Options> Privacy, try a setting of Low Accept all or
specifically allow cookies from ebay.
3. ZoneAlarm or another third-party program might be causing this. Turn on
the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall and disable ZA and
other third-party security/privacy/ad-blocker programs as a test. One of
these programs may be causing the problem.

Hope this helps,
Don

That could be a symptom of using the wrong encryption standard for that site.
E.g. perhaps you have none checked or only Use SSL 2.0 checked?
(in Options, Advanced tab, Security section.)

BTW if you need more help more explicit details about where you are starting
from and what you are doing may be necessary.
