IE6 Problem with Google Maps and Microsoft Maps

I just installed IE6 on a new PC. It can browse almost every site I went to
except it can't display the maps on either maps.google.com or
virtualearth.msn.com. The message says: "Problem with this page might
prevent it from being displayed properly ..."
Is it a Java related problem? Is there a option that need to be set? It's
strange that it doesn't work with a msn site.
 
Windows version? Was IE not preinstalled on the machine? Have you visited
Windows Update lately?
