ie6 maximizing new ie browser

Rob

Hi,

I am running windos xp home with ie6. I have downloaded
sp1 and all the updates. It has been working fine until
yesterday. I am not sure what I did, but now when I have
ie opened and I click on a link in the open browser when
th new browser is opened it is not maximized like before
and I have to click the bow in the upper right corner.
How do I get the new browser to maximize automatically
when it opens? Thanks.

Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.

I have done that. Though it gives the appearance of the
browser maximized, it is not, because I can still click
the box in yhe upper right to fully maximize the browser.
It is more of a bandaid fix and not the way it was
before. Thank you for your suggestion, but I would still
like it the way it was before and know what to do to
correct the problem.

Rob,
I don't think that IE can do what you want without help.

To get a true maximized window...
AutoSizer 1.4- http://www.southbaypc.com/AutoSizer/
IE New Window Maximizer http://www.jiisoft.com/iemaximizer/index.htm

.
It used to maximaize in the past without any 3rd party
help. I can't believe that it can't be restored to the
way it was by making a small change.

Try this:
Run regedit and go to this key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
in the right pane, modify the FullScreen value from "no" to "yes"

I tried regedit and that didn't do it. Thanks for the
suggestion.

Rob

Sorry, no more ideas. I don't know how you were getting "true" maximized
(second) windows.
