IE6 launches, absolutely freezes, must End Task, what's wrong?

2 days ago something must have corrupted by IE browser. It launches and
brings up homepage fine but I can't click on anything on the IE window,
just get a ding. The only thing I see different than before is a
toolbar at the bottom with the word Subscribe. I tried downloading and
installing another IE6 but still comes up the same way. What should I
do/try next? I really don't want to use the restore hard drive disks
and start over but this is a serious problem considering I do all my
work via Browser. Thanks for any help, JG

***If you are running Me or XP, you can do a system restore back to before
this happened. Piece of cake.
