I recently upgraded from Adobe Reader 6.0 to Adobe Reader 7.0. Internet
explorer generates and error message when trying to download a .pdf document.
The error is "Adobe Acrobat no installed on this machine." I am using XP
sp2 on an HP Pavillion with IE6.

In Windows Explorer click Tools | Folder Options | File Types. Scroll down
to PDF, select it and click Advanced. Select Open and click Edit. Make
sure it reads
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" "%1"
If you installed Adobe Reader someplace else, change the path in the first
set of quotes.

I checked the actual path against the path noted. The paths are identical. I
redirected the file type back to the application and IE6 is still generating
the error.
