ie6 Freezes

Yesterday i formatted my computer for the first time in
about a year. before i did, ie6 worked fine. now when i
use ie6 everytime my cursor goes over one of thoses
links, which changes images when your cursor is over it,
my computer freezes it. its frozen on the mircosoft site
as well. it does this frequently...it just hangs my
computer and it forces me to turn restart my comp.
any help?h
