IE6 doesn't work on XP Pro after latest security update

After applying latest security update available yeterday or the day before
yestersay, IE6 doesn't work anymore on XP Pro: it always fails when
connecting to internet and displaying the "cannot find server" page. Anyone
has similar experience and has solutions?

Other internet program, i.e., outlook, netscape all works.

See KB867801 from earlier (starting Jul 30 10:43PM). Hope
you find an answer. At least you have other internet
programs that work after the update. I can't get Outlook
Express or my FTP client to function either after I
update. Had to keep restoring my system to an earlier
configuration (which is where I'm at now). Bummer. Sounds
like an important update, but what good is it if makes IE
unusable?
 
Sorry, but I'm running X Pro w/SP1 and all updates as well as IE6 SP1 with
all updates and I'm not having any problems.
