IE6 does not pass logo check for windows XP

My browser was infected/hijacked and I apparently did
some damage when I deleted some files to fix the problem
using spybot search and destroy. I tried to restore these
but IE6 now says cannot find server. My MSN and SBC
browsers still work. I tried re-installing IE6 and reset
the toggle to avoid the "newer version installed" message
as instructed in the knowledge base, but now it gives me
a "program does not pass xp logo check" message and
interupts the install.
