IE6 crashing on Win 98se

S

Susan

I am no longer able to bring up Internet Explorer in Windows 98se.

I get an error box that states:
Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered an error and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on
might be lost.
Restart Microsoft Internet Explorer [a check box comes up checked]
Please tell Microsoft about this problem...

When I send and error report it crashes again unless I uncheck the box that
indicates to Restart Microsoft Internet Explorer.

When I "click here" to see what data the error report contains, another box
states:
Error signature
AppName: iexplore.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName: xx2gr.dll
ModVer: 4.5.1.0
Offset: 0000fe05

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can download and create a CD on
another machine if I must reload/reinstall Internet Explorer.

Hi,

That xx2gr.dll file seems toi be part of GetRight. It might help to
reinstall GetRight.

Just to make sure, scan your system for adware and spyware using Adaware,
Spybot, MS AntiSpyware.

Kind regards

Thanks very much. I haven't used GetRight in a very long time so I
uninstalled it. Now IE comes up just fine.

Take care!
