It happens primarily on one website (ABC N ews)

Here is the technical info from the error message:

Exception code 0xc0000005
address 0x00000007a9a8935

iexplore.exe 6.0 (causing exception in) module msjava.dll 5.0.3167.0

I tried turning off my popup blocker (Zero Popup) but that didn't help.

This problem can occur if the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (VM) is damaged
It might also be a good idea to install the latest version of Microsoft
Virtual Machine. You can find it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/?gssnb=1

You might also try doing a repair of the IE, Open Control Panel | Add/Remove
Programs | Select and highlight your MS IE version in the list, then click
the Add/Remove tab and when the dialog box comes up, select the Repair
Internet Explorer and then click OK. Let it run the repair.

I went to Microsoft Knowledge Base and typed in the exception code:
0xc0000005

Up came an article that said it was a known issue in IE6, and that a service
pack update would fix it.

Went to Windows Update, found a security update to Service Pack 1, and
downloaded.

I do appreciate the advice on how to do a repair of IE.
