IE6 app will suddenly not start

Please help - I was happily browsing this morning when ie6
reported an error and I got the usual option to send/dont
send error details. I chose dont send but since then I
have been unable to open ie6 at all - the app just doesn't
start [no explorer window opens]and all I get is the
send/dont send error details option. Itseems the error is
coming from :-
iexplore.exe
mod ver 6.0.2800.1233
app ver 6.0.2800.1106
mod name shell32.dll [ver is 6.0:2800.1233]

PLAESE HELP!!!!!

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder

If nothing there helps, please post back to this thread.

Thanks for the reply. I have run spybot s&d, adaware,
cwshredder & hijackthis and got rid of anything they found
but I still cant open the ie6 app - just get the send
error report dialogue box. Looking on microsoft KB article
281679 it mentions shell32.dll - may be the problem is
that something has unregistered this module???
Anybody have any thoughts on this or had similar
experiences? Thanks in advance.
