IE6 and .png graphics

Anyone know if there is a real fix for IE6's inability to display certain
types of .png graphics??
Most of the references I have found via Google seem to refer to methods
whereby web page coders can force IE to render the graphic - and that's
great as far as that aspect is concerned - but I am interested in seeing the
damn .png graphics when I visit a web page.

Also searched MS KnowledgeBase with little success.

I hate it when I have to answer my own post (not!)... here is
the solution (for me at least):

Start
Run
regsvr32 c:\windows\system\pngfilt.dll

{ You may need to adjust the folder name if windows is not
installed in C:\windows }

I am running IE6 on Win98se; seems like some other application
(likely Quicktime) pranged the dll registration for .png images.

This idea came from the FAQ at the PNG site:
http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/
