IE6 and MS Money

Chris

Just installed MS Money 2004, worked fine (eventually, and
IE6 was working (had been already using for many months).
then suddenly got IE6 error, it shout down, and depsite
reinstalling it just won't access any web sites. If I
uninstall to IE5, it will browse the web ok, but of course
Money keeps telling me it needs IE6.

Can anyone suggest what changed? (I have treid repiaring
IE6 but no luck)

I am having very similar problems which started sometime
ago possibly when I installed Money 2004 (I installed
worksuite, word, encarta and autoroute at the same time).
I am using IE6 with Windows XP home sp1. I also have
Window 98 first edition with IE4 on second hard disk, and
for the past few days Netscape 7.0 running in XP and both
these browsers have no problems on the pages IE6 is unable
open.

I have also been unable to uninstall IE6 properly it
appears to uninstall but is back instantly I try reinstall.

It would be interesting to know if the same pages are
causing you problems. I have tried a number of change to
IE6, here are the pages I test on to see if I have found a
solution. The home page of a major UK retailer
www.whsmith.co.uk. Within the site of another major uk
retailer www.hmv.co.uk, search for Dido's music albums,
eight results come up the first 3 and the last 3 result
open correctly but the fourth and fifth ones do not.

There are a number of known unfixed issues that cause IE6
to close, they are listed in the MS knowledge base, they
are mainly associated with scripting errors in the web
pages but it is difficult to check if these scripting
errors are present or not.
