IE won't save pics as jpgs

I checked out recent Knowledge Base articles and the
closest account of a similar problem occurs with AOL
users.

I am not an AOL user and thus any steps discussed in that
particular knowledge articles is useless to me.

The problem began sometime in December, disappeared in
the first weeks of January and is now back! When I right-
click on a pic to SAVE AS, the dialogue which opens up
only allows for the pic to be saved as a BMP file. Even
if the original source from the net has a jpeg file, IE
or XP doesn't give us the option to save it in it's
original format...

Has anyone come accross the same problem? A friend of
mine messaged me and said that he's having the exact same
problem! I'm thinking, maybe there are others who know
how to fix this problem...

Thanks!

John,
You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK
