IE won't keep the passwords

IE will not keep the password settings. I have checked
every source I could find and none have helped. Although
IE is prompting me to save the password for a login, it
will not keep the setting. I am not the only person that
is experiencing this problem. When trying to log into a
secure sight, it will ask for my user name and password,
but will not keep the settings. Any ideas out there?

.
....I found the fix...

1. Log on as Administrator or an Administrator
account

2. Use the Control Panel Services applet to stop the
Protected Storage Service.

3. Use the regedt32 Registry editor

4. Backup the registry, always a good thing to do before
making changes.

5. Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software \Microsoft
\Protected Storage System Provider Registry key.
Double-click this key to display its subkeys.
at least one subkey has a name that is
equivalent to your NT user account's SID
(e.g., S-1-5-21-36516332-637091160-
1803697834-1001).
You need to delete this subkey.
If you cannot find which subkey belongs to your
account, delete all of the subkey's. Usually a basic e-
Client build
will have 4 off these subkeys in a form similar
to "S-1-5-21-36516332-637091160-1803697834-1001".

6. Restart the Protected Storage Service in the Control
Panel Services applet.

7. AutoComplete should now work.
