IE won't complete to "DONE"

Hi All
Notation "2 items remaining", continuously visible in status bar in
Internet Explorer. Never happened before. Is there an adjustment to get it to
"done"? Thanks for any help.
OS.. WinXP Home ED.
 
That's a very command thing. You just never noticed it before. Hit the X
button a few times and it will stop. You probably will not be missing
anything because it usually is an add that isn't on the screen.
