IE window size changed when opening a new window

Why is it that microsoft can't fix a simple problem like the IE window size?
I want it maximised to fill the whole screen, but it does NOT remember the
size I want. Various solutions have been proposed on the Internet, but I've
found that NONE work. So where are the competent microsoft employees to fix
this very annoying problem, and why is the solution STILL also NOT on the
microsoft site???

Just set the shortcut properties to run the app "Maximized".

Rants are OK within reason - but you're slinging a few comments
that are unwarranted. There is no problem with IE size & placement.
The problem resides on your PC, not with Microsoft or it's employees.
Responders will help and tolerate some "Bashing", but the tone of your
post isn't likely to help you case.

Window size remains the same - no change. Try again.
As for rants against ms, I've been using ms stuff since 1990, and when they
sat on a $40+ BILLION cash pile, they should have invested some of that on
FIXING problems in their products.

If your biggest complaint about Micros~1 is that they can't fix a window
size problem on your machine, well, that pretty much explains why they have
$40 billion in the mattress.

It's probably because you are using sites that have some pop-ups or
other window-size screwing elements. You may also be (unknowingly) using
applications that host IE windows.

Perhaps the problem is NOT the operating system but your corrupted
profile not saving changes. It works properly for the rest of us out here.

Who said it was the biggest prob?
Had being the operative word.
Not to mention they invested and lost $1.5 BILLION in England. Way to go
microstupid.

Am using 6.0 2800.1106 and you'd think ms would make it simple and non
problematic like Admin only change, not 3rd party, but no they don't.
Not to mention that dumb ms only fixed deleting NG posts in OE version 6
service pack 1 IIRC.
Now WHERE on the *ms* site does it tell their "valued" customers how to fix
this annoying "feature" of gates?

Use Explorer to navigate to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer.
Locate IExplore.Exe, Right Click, From context menu hover
over the "Send To" from the secondary menu Left Click Desktop.
Rename the shortcut to IE or Internet Explorer. Right click the
shortcut, Left Click Properties and modify the run field to
"Maximize" & try that shortcut.

I think your Tourette's is getting out of control.

I would say you aren't thinking, period.
Are you a ms employee or not? Should I say that you are displaying the
symptoms of one?

It was set as Normal, I changed it to Maximized, but that didn't help either.
When I right click a link in IE to Open in New Window, THAT window size is
never maximised, like the initial IE.

I think I follow your description. So the initial IE Window is at a
Maximized size, it's a secondary window that doesn't open to the
full screen dimensions ? So your IE isn't using the Advanced
option "Reuse Windows for launching Shortcuts" ? I don't use IE
in that mode/size so I'm not sure I can guide you to a solution. On
my system when have multiple IE views open they are offset from
the parent (or 1st) IE session in a cascaded layout. I may not be
understanding you correctly as "Visual" issues are really hard to
convey on a NG posting.

Right.

Yes it IS, that box is ticked.

Thanks for trying anyway.

I like to have all my IE's open in maximised automatically, unless the site
opens a smaller window for a specific purpose, like when playing chess the
windows is only about 1/4 size, but for normal browsing, I want it maximised.

For ms: So where are those *ms_employees* who are supposed to bug fix ms
products? After sales "service" doesn't apply to ms? Take it or leave it, or
buy our next upgrade and buggy (but in different areas) product, where you
will have a whole NEW set of bugs to enjoy?

I think the problem has to do with the command line that's executing iexplore,
it maybe set to use dde and or the absence of the -nohome command line switch
for htm and html file extension types.
What command line is listed for these file types?
Also, do you have office 2002 or 2003 installed?
