IE will not allow searching

IE allows me to enter a web address and navigate sites,
but I cannot enter a search field on a site like Yahoo or
Google or MSN and search a topic. When i attempt to do
this i get a pop up window stating that IE has to close
and gives me the option to send a report to microsoft. How
do I resolve this?

Have you been hacked?
